cropped

top (similar)/sweater - at least 10 years old (similar)/jeans (Citizens of Humanity)/shoes (nine west)/sunglasses (prada)/purse (Rebecca Minkoff, here in more colors)

I was reading recently that cropped tops are on trend for spring. I attempted a crop top with a high waisted skirt last summer and got a big thumbs down from my husband.  But, because I really like this trend, I gave it another go. This time I toned it down a bit with a fun floral top peeking out from underneath because a.) i AM in my thirties with 2 kids and b.) my husband was taking my blog photos and I didn't want to watch him roll his eyes at my exposed midriff.  I heard a few comments about the crazy mix of prints but he said nothing of the crop top. That's a win, folks!

  1. Now that's how you do cropped! Super mixing of stripes and floral. Light colored bag is perfect and love the shoes. Great outfit, I would so wear this!

  2. Love this! It's very on trend and super flattering on you! Men just don't understand fashion. My husband does the same thing.

  3. What a great idea to layer the longer top in a contrasting pattern! It looks so good. My husband doesn't get it either. I HATE when he says something looks too young (when I know it's fine). This is a guy that rotates the same 6 shirts to wear to his plant manager job.

  5. First of all, I didn't realize you were in STL! That makes me so happy! I live in Glen Carbon, but work in Sunset Hills. As for your outfit - it's great! I don't think a cropped top would look flattering on my frame, but I love how you've styled this. Like a modern day Cher from Clueless outfit! Love!
