Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's

Great title right? ...and it's the title of a documentary opening June 7th in St. Louis! I had the pleasure of getting a preview of this film on Tuesday, and while my bank account will probably never allow me to shop at Bergdorf's, the film was both interesting and entertaining. Bergdorf Goodman's store epitomizes fashion and wealth. The film is all about the rise of this style mecca and a behind the scenes look at its inner workings. It's part history and part comedy that includes interviews with Michael Kors, Joan Rivers, Bobbi Brown and Manolo Blahnik (just to name a few.) The film is showing at Plaza Frontenac in St. Louis. Grab and couple drinks at Cardwell's bar and head on over to the theatre if you get a chance.

Shoe Crazzzzzy

Banana Republic shirt (old)/J.Crew Jeans/Isola Shoes (Nordstrom)/Deux Lux Clutch - love this (here)/D&G Sunglasses/Michele Watch/Lagos Bracelet

Nordstrom is well known for its great shoe selection and lucky for us, they are currently running their half-yearly sale.  I spotted these shoes in my size and couldn't put them down. I'm planning to wear them to a family wedding in a couple weeks but I decided to break them in during date night this past weekend. Fierce.

Chopped Salad

The inspiration for this salad came guessed it...Pinterest! Although I changed up the recipe quite a bit, here is the original inspiration recipe- BLT Salad (from How Sweet It Is Blog)

Below is how I tweaked the recipe. In the end it was a different salad but it still included the bacon, lettuce and tomato (along with a few extras.) The final product was delicious! I highly recommend giving it a try. And if you're a vegetarian, it would be just as great without the bacon.

1 Head butter lettuce, chopped (about 2.5 cups chopped)
1 Small head Red or Green leaf lettuce chopped (about 2.5 cups chopped)
1/2 Pint grape tomatoes, halved
1/2 Small red onion, chopped
1/2 seedless cucumber, quartered and sliced
1 cup sweet corn (I used canned)
1 Avocado, chopped
6 oz. blue cheese, crumbled
5 sliced bacon, fried & crumbled

Dressing: (you probably won't use it all)

2/3 C. Olive oil
1/3 C. Red wine vinigar
2 Tbsp. Water
1/2 packet good seasons italian dressing mix

In a large bowl, combine lettuces, cucumber, onion, avocado, corn, tomatoes. Crumble cheese and bacon. In a separate container combine olive oil, vinigar and seasoning. Pour dressing over salad to your liking and then divide evenly among 6-8 plates. Enjoy!

totally in-VEST-ed

Hazel2Blue vest/Old Navy shirt/J.Crew jeans/Wedges (Paperdolls Boutique)/Tory Burch Dena Foldover (Nordstrom)/Marc by Marc Aviators/Bonnie Jonas Necklace/Feather Necklace (old)/Michele Watch/Lagos Bracelet
This past weekend started off a bit chilly here, which gave me the perfect excuse to try out a new vest from my favorite online boutique - Hazel2Blue. I love it!  It's so easy to wear and can be dressed up or dressed down. I kept it casual wearing it over a cotton long sleeved tee but this vest could also be thrown on over a blouse and dressed up with some great jewelry and heels. I've seen vests everywhere this season. Will you be giving this trend a try?
