Carmelitas


I love a good excuse to bake. This weekend was my future sister-in-law's bridal shower and what a fantastic reason to try out this Carmelitas recipe (here.) Caramel, chocolate and oatmeal - I'm in!

I lightened up the recipe a little bit by using half and half in place of cream and reducing the butter to 1/2 cup but nevertheless these were delicious!

  2. thanks! They are delicious and really easy. If you wait until the first oatmeal layer cools before adding the chocolate chips, the chips will stay in chip form (as opposed to melting :) ) They're great either way though. Let's definitely follow each others blogs. I'll add you now.
